About the Valencia Grand Prix
The European Grand Prix will be held for the first time ever as a street circuit in Valencia Spain on 23 - 24 August, 2008. The race circuit will be 5.473 km (3.401 mi) long through the Marina area that has been recently revamped for the America's Cup. The race will consist of 56 laps for a total race length length of 306.488 km (190.456 mi). Top speed will exceed 300 km/hour, with average speeds over 200.
The race runs over two days. Saturday is qualifying day, where the starting positions are determined in reverse order of the driver's lap times. Sunday, 24th August, is the actual race.
