James Bond fever has hit the Boatbookings office this week with the exciting announcement of Spectre and the even more exciting Aston Martin DB10 set to accompany Daniel Craig in the latest addition to the thrilling movies. On this theme our super yacht of the week is a yacht not only fit to run alongside the DB10 but also perfect for housing the most menacing of Bond villains. DB9, the stunning luxury motor yacht and the original Palmer Johnson 170 is our super yacht of the week.
DB9 was the first of the new range of Palmer Johnson yachts designed to be both futuristic, sleek, sporty and full of volume. This model has been particularly successful attracting huge interest at the 2013 Monaco Yacht Show. The yacht boasts not one, not two but three plunge pools throughout the yacht to guarantee you’re never too far from a refreshing dip. For the old fashioned romantic an open air cinema screen can be erected on the fly deck for films under the stars and with panoramic views of wherever in the world you’re anchored.
As well as this, DB9 never fails to surprise with a classic interior that can only be described as a stark contrast to her ultra-modern exterior, with classic styles and even a grand piano in the saloon. The classic style of the interior is matched with clean lines, animal prints and large windows to create a light bright space that brings the interior into the 21st century and beyond. All cabins enjoy an individual print and identity of their own, with clean lines and beautiful marble in all the ensuite bathrooms. DB9 can sleep 12 guests in her 5 cabins thanks to two pullman beds.
We think DB9 and Palmer Johnson are the perfect match for Aston Martin’s new DB10. Technical specifications remain to be seen but the DB10 boasts Aston Martin’s famed 4.2 litre V8 engine, now with the longer profile of the DB range. The long sweeping lines and futuristic styling make her a perfect match for the striking Palmer Johnson yachts. What do you think, Aston Martin and Palmer Johnson – a match made in heaven? We certainly think so here at Boatbookings.com!
