Richard Sauter, Leader In Eco Friendly Yacht Design, Launches Bali Net Zero Hotel Resort & Spa

Richard John Sauter, a long time visionary in the design of the technologically evolved, environmentally responsible superyacht, is diversifying. At the recent RINA Conference held in Genoa he made a presentation emphasizing the ’10 basic steps that will place the Post Carbon Superyacht at the forefront of mankind’s inevitable Post Carbon Future.’  Sauters innovative superyachts harness “the collective maritime resources derived from the sun, wind, waves and currents at sea.”

Sauter has come ashore to tackle sustainability issues with the prototypical Bali Net Zero Hotel, with solar panels numerous enough to collect more than double the amount of energy required to run the hotel. By generating and selling this surplus electricity by day, the Hotel is able to offset the electricity they will consume from the grid by night. The Solar Energy generated by the Hotel complex will be sold to the local community with the profits used to cover the cost of laying down, maintaining and further expanding the systems infrastructure.

Richard Sauter founder of Sauter Carbon Offset Design commented “Building Net Zero Green Power Resorts instead of a coal fired power station is a realistic, cost effective alternative for Bali. The Chinese Coal Fired power station proposed for Bali is what made China the number one environmental polluter on the planet today. Green Power from Net Zero Hotel Resorts like this one will show that collectively, the Tourist Industry in Bali can provide enough Solar Power to establish the island of the Gods as the number one Eco Tourist destination in the world”.

The Bali Net Zero Hotel Resort & Spa generates 2.5Mws of electricity a day from its solar cell array to maintain a Zero Carbon status. Solar panels which have a 25 year warranty will be deployed as an integral part of the cascading roof on 4 floors.

Being a renewable and sustainable power generation station will qualify the Bali Net Zero Resort as a Certified Carbon Offset Project allowing for the sale of Carbon Offset Credits to guests in the form of a 5% surcharge on Hotel facilities. The cost of the entire Solar Power Generating System may be recovered in less than 3 years. As a Certified Carbon Offset Project the Bali Net Zero Hotel & Seminyak Solar Power Station will offset over 5,000 tons of CO2 per year.

Notable features aboard APOGEE include a spacious formal dining room with seating for twelve, a skylounge that beckons a theme party, and superb outdoor deck arrangements on every level. Our Charter Experts On Board Trinity 160’ ANJILIS: Sophistication with a Touch of Whimsy

We were delighted with an invitation to board ANJILIS in Fort Lauderdale, just a day before she heads to New York. ANJILIS is a magnificent 160’ Trinity with interiors by renowned designer Glade Johnson. ANJILIS is supremely stylish without being stuffy, sophisticated and most welcoming. Art Deco inspired interiors feature custom marquetry, elaborate stone inlays and luxurious furnishings.

The main salon features a unique corner organ bar, a cozy and convivial lounge area where the owner enjoys playing the organ for his guests, and placing his tip jar front and center. He seems to be a man of humor and sentimentality, ANJILIS, is a combination of his children’s names.

We are told that the exquisite formal dining room doesn’t get as much use as the alfresco dining areas, but is a wonderful option that comfortably seats 10 guests. The stunning table compliments contrasting maple, teak, cherry woods and marble inlays that meld in a sumptuous display.

ANJILIS feels comfortable to live on board. The main deck master suite is palatial, with five televisions so you needn’t miss a word. The bath is white Afghanistan onyx with a shower that connects his and hers sides, his with a full bathtub and hers with a vanity. Guest accommodations on the lower level include an unusually large twin stateroom with desk and Pullman, perfect for two children and a nanny. The other three staterooms are all equal kings, apart from differences in bathroom facilities. The overall feeling on the lower level is one of calm, with a soothing color palette in tones of sea and sand.

ANJILIS has lots of entertaining options. The versatile and spacious skylounge is ideal for virtually any type of clientele, making an easy transition from an inviting family gathering to an elite corporate cocktail party. The upper deck, equipped with an outdoor shower and day head, Jacuzzi, barbeque and ample seating for a crowd, is perfect for events under the sun or stars.

ANJILIS is a very busy yacht, about to piggyback on Dockwise from Fort Lauderdale to Genoa, then cruising the Greek Islands and the Riviera with back to back bookings. Alicia Ewing, Chief Stewardess, knows one important reason why ANJILIS is so popular. “I think that the crew makes a huge difference,” she explains. Families and groups that come onboard ANJILIS don’t want a stuffy experience. We’ve had very down to earth people that really want to have a good time. Our crew is fun and young and vivacious and we really want to set up the beach barbeques and fun things to do. We want them to walk off the yacht saying that was the best vacation ever!” And a loyal, repeat clientele proves guests are saying just that.
