Crewed Catamarans – a great value alternative to Motor Yachts, read on and discover what other people don’t know…

When thinking of a luxury yacht charter vacation it is often crewed motor yachts that spring to mind and not catamarans, in many respects it’s easy to understand why. It’s true luxury crewed motor yacht charters and super yacht charter are an ultimate luxury vacation but they can be prohibitively expensive, that’s where the crewed catamaran comes into play!

Boatbookings.com Charter Director Lambros thinks that, ‘Catamarans are in many ways as good – or even better than motor yachts’ read on to find out why!

HEMISPHERE - The largest Catamaran in the World!
HEMISPHERE – The largest Catamaran in the World!

Reasons to charter a Crewed Catamaran:

– Due to their width, they are very stable, not pitching and rolling on the seas as mono-hulls sometimes do (boats with just one hull sailing yachts and motor boats)

-A wide beam (width) also means that catamarans are extremely spacious – a 60ft catamaran has the same space overall as a 80+ Ft motor yacht,

– Modern catamarans have fly bridges similar to those found on motor yachts, offering a new dimension and element of space.

– Crewed Catamarans in the Caribbean are often ‘all-inclusive’ so there’s no need to worry about expenses.

– The only real minus points for catamarans vs motor yachts is the speed: where a fast m/y cruises at 25knots, a catamaran can only go up to 10-12knots – not a problem when you want to sit back, relax and enjoying the scenery.

Below is a small selection of our favourite crewed catamarans, just click on the picture or boat name to find out more!

The Most Beautifully Executed Interior Design Ever – SEALYON

When you think of a super yacht interior, you think of uncompromising luxury and tailored design. It all begins with a wish list – outside space, jacuzzi, swimming pool, entertainment systems, tenders and toys. Whilst some compromise, SEALYON has been executed meticulously and beautifully to create breathtaking interior and exterior space throughout.

SEALYON4SEALYONOutside, the amount of space on her sun decks is unparalleled. A rotating sunbed, mist machine, ample seating and a large dining area would be enough you might think but heading forward and up another level you have more space to relax and unwind under the sun. This includes sumptuous sun-beds and an over-sized jacuzzi accommodating all 12 guests if you so desire.

SEALYON3The top deck is without doubt the highlight of this stunning super yacht, but heading down the other two sprawling decks provide shady protection from the sun. Heading inside, you’re greeted by award winning design which incorporates 1930s glamour and contemporary chic. This creates glistening surfaces that make the already vast spaces seem even bigger, however social spaces are still made to feel cosy due to beautiful dark geometric furniture.

The 6 beautifully assigned staterooms all have a bang-on trend theme of warm dark chic, offering sumptuously inviting contemporary king beds. Their marble covered ensuite bathrooms spoil guests with space and relaxing beauty. All this magnificently designed by hailed interior designers Candy & Candy.
