This year’s Electric & hybrid Marine World Expo saw the launch of the SWATH Electra Glide Limousine Tender. This revolutionary vessel is the world’s first Carbon Neutral Solar Hybrid SuperYacht Tender that combines both the environmental benefits of solar electric sustainability with the no sea sickness comfort of an anti-roll SWATH vessel.
This boat, built by Nedship, is not short on power and is powered by twin 300hp Regen Electric outboards the Tender’s maximum speed a very impressive 45 knots. Her 20kw a day solar panels produce up to 7Mws annually, which at a speed of 16 knots is enough energy to travel more than 1,000 carbon neutral nautical miles, pretty impressive!
This tender is not just for getting from A to B. This luxurious vessel features a galley and and bar which means she is perfect for day expeditions and for exploring remote and hard to reach beaches and coves on your luxury yacht charter. Other mod-cons include hot and cold air conditioning, surround sound entertainment, two flat screen TVs and opening gull wing windows on each side of the craft.
Richard Sauter Head of design noted “The SWATH Electra Glide Tender takes us to an era of Responsible Luxury Yachting, where zero carbon solar power is a standard requirement and anti-roll, full standing spaciousness is taken for granted.”
The Antibes Yacht Show kicked off yesterday on the very sunny French Riviera. The show this year sees the attendance of some our favourites – from DEVOCEAN to AVELLA and more! The highlight of our show was finally getting to see the very exciting and highly reputable Riva Domino 86 RHINO. We saw RHINO around the French Riviera last summer, ever-popular on charter she regularly frequented the hottest spots of Cannes, Monaco and St Tropez.
Spanish sundowners last night provided excellent refreshment on a beautiful evening in Port Vauban, Antibes. The boat itself feels large beyond its size with huge outside space at the rear, flybridge and dining on the bow. She’s highly specced with beautiful tan leather upholsteries outside, sumptuous tweed soft furnishings in the cabins and a full-beam master suite which offers space otherwise never found on yachts of this size.
RHINO is the most stylish yacht around. Her calendar for this season is starting to fill so we highly recommend ceasing this opportunity to charter this one-of-a-kind yacht! Contact our team in Cannes today for more information.
At Boatbookings we think Sardinia and Corsica are two of the most beautiful and underrated cruising areas in the Mediterranean, read on to find out how to combine the two islands into a week long charter of a lifetime on board a luxury motor yachtSASCHA, currently including VAT on charters booked before 31st March!
Getting to Sardinia is easy. Fly directly to Olbia International Airport and just 20 minutes after leaving the arrivals you’ll be sipping a well deserved cocktail on SASCHA’S aft deck, served to you by the excellent crew who will remain at your complete disposal for the rest of the week guiding you safely from port to port in total comfort and providing exquisite food along the way!
Once settled, cruise out of Olbia and enjoy your first views from SASCHA’S luxurious flybridge of the beautiful Costa Smeralda, characterised by stunning rock formations, idyllic coves and crystal clear turquoise waters. After a relaxing cruise why not dock into Porto Rotondo a beautiful port and village surrounded by luscious Mediterranean vegetation and overlooking the emerald coloured sea.
The next stop off on your charter should be Porto Cervo. A famous hang out of the rich and famous, a place for film stars and sports stars to come together often arriving on some of the finest Super Yachts, much like the glamorous towns of Cannes and St Tropez on the French Riviera. Porto Cervo is a place for partying the night away in chic bars before returning to your yacht for a day of recovery and relaxation!
Continuing to cruise north you’ll come across the beautiful island archipelago of La Maddalena, until recently not open to tourists these beautiful islands remain one of the few relatively ‘untouched’ parts of the Mediterranean. The waters around the island and famed for their cleanliness. Spend a quiet night or two moored off the islands or in La Maddalena harbour before setting off for Corsica the next day!
After leaving La Maddalena and Sardinia within a matter of a few hours you will arrive in Southern Corsica docking in Bonifacio on the southern tip of the island. Why not go ashore and explore the town and sample some delicious local food and take an opportunity to practice your French – just try and remember to say ‘Merci’ and not ‘Grazie’ at least!
From Bonifacio cruise north up the eastern coast of Corsica stopping as you go to enjoy coves and islands before arriving in Porto Vecchio where sadly it will be time to say good by to your crew and yacht before flying out of one of Corsica’s International airports.

When thinking of a luxury yacht charter vacation it is often crewed motor yachts that spring to mind and not catamarans, in many respects it’s easy to understand why. It’s true luxury crewed motor yacht charters and super yacht charter are an ultimate luxury vacation but they can be prohibitively expensive, that’s where the crewed catamaran comes into play!
Boatbookings.com Charter DirectorLambros thinks that, ‘Catamarans are in many ways as good – or even better than motor yachts’ read on to find out why!
Reasons to charter a Crewed Catamaran:
– Due to their width, they are very stable, not pitching and rolling on the seas as mono-hulls sometimes do (boats with just one hull sailing yachts and motor boats)
-A wide beam (width) also means that catamarans are extremely spacious – a 60ft catamaran has the same space overall as a 80+ Ft motor yacht,
– Modern catamarans have fly bridges similar to those found on motor yachts, offering a new dimension and element of space.
– Crewed Catamarans in the Caribbean are often ‘all-inclusive’ so there’s no need to worry about expenses.
– The only real minus points for catamarans vs motor yachts is the speed: where a fast m/y cruises at 25knots, a catamaran can only go up to 10-12knots – not a problem when you want to sit back, relax and enjoying the scenery.
Below is a small selection of our favourite crewed catamarans, just click on the picture or boat name to find out more!
