A Taste of the Exotic on the French Riviera – Èze

EZEWhy not escape the hustle and bustle and bright lights of the French Riviera this summer and take your charter east to Èze? The small village provides an escape from the busy towns along the coast, still maintaining its beautiful and picturesque historic buildings that date back to as early as 1306.

Climb to the top of the village and take in the panoramic views of the Côte d'Azur, or visit the Botanical gardens which are renowned for their collection of cacti and succulents. There is a wonderful collection of shops, art galleries and restaurants around the village, making it popular with honeymooners and tourists alike. The commune then extends down to the coast where Èze-sur-Mer is home to a stunning but narrow stony beach, making it a quiet and tranquil spot to escape the crowds. We can recommend a great place for you to spend the day on land, sampling some of the fine continental cuisine and hospitality the Riviera is famous for.

AnjunaBayTake a day to unwind at the Anjuna Bay Restaurant and Private Beach. The décor is unusual and exotic with Indian and East Asian influences, lending itself the crystal clear waters that surround Èze-sur-Mer. You can relax on one of the loungers and receive fantastic service from the welcoming and attentive staff.

For dinner the restaurant at the private beach cooks some of the finest traditional and modern Mediterranean cuisine, accompanied by the sea view throughout. For larger groups there is a set menu available which includes drinks and is great value for the sumptuous food and drink on offer here. If you're looking for somewhere to eat on the beach, Anjuna Bay is a must for all parties.

Juan_Les_Pins_Port_Plage

Juan-Les-Pins is an attractive town in the commune of Antibes, full of life and buzzing with energy. The town has a casual atmosphere, very relaxed and popular with the younger generations who like to party! So, if you want a taste of the high-life that Juan Les Pins has to offer, head to the Restaurant Plage Belles Rives, located just off Port Gallice. The hotel's beach restaurant is in a prime location to watch the yachts coming in and out of the port, with a great view of the Iles de Lérins just off Palm Beach in Cannes; the waters between are also a fantastic spot for trying out a yacht's water toys, so there's always that to watch for some amusement!

Belles_Rives_Food_Drink
Dine on the water's edge with your feet in the sand at the Belles Rives Beach Restaurant. The chef's suggestion for a light lunch includes a seasonal salad, a lobster brochette and a glass of Côtes de Provence Rosé, or try some of the Riviera specialities such as beef tartare, a salad niçoise or seared tuna with a vegetable garnish. After your delightful meal, relax on the beach or pontoon on one of the sun loungers, where the staff will happily continue to serve you drinks and snacks.

Based in Port La Rague, just off Mandelieu La Napoule and Cannes, she is stylish and sexy, with a modern and classy interior. The use of bright whites and contrasting dark colours give her spacious and 'cool' décor. Out on deck, there is plenty of space for an al fresco breakfast in the sunshine, and sunbathing up front. LIZZI also has plenty of water toys, so you can join the fun in the bay between Juan and Cannes.

A Day in the Life of an Intern, Part V

The Sacs 680 Rib for charter around Cannes and AntibesFollowing on from 'A Day in the Life of an Intern Part IV', Part V will keep you informed as to what else the interns have been up to, including more time spent sailing around Cannes! Now that the summer season is in full swing, the atmosphere is heating up and everybody is looking to get out on the water.

So, some of the interns did! We jumped at the chance to spend a morning on a bareboat with skipper and we took the brand new Sacs 680 Rib out for a spin from Golfe Juan. It really is worth doing the trip, so we know exactly what our clients get when they charter, and it is a great experience.

We headed out from Port Gallice, and at Ben's request, our skipper BaptisteBen tried to take a turn at skippering the boat! sped up. We flew across the water, at 45 knots, past Palm Beach in Cannes, around to the Iles de Lérins; it was an exhilarating ride, with the wind in your hair (or in Charlotte's case, her hair in her face!).

We anchored between Ile Sainte Marguérite and Saint Honorat, where the water is as crystal clear as the waters in the Caribbean Sea. Of course, we took the chance to swim, but as it was still early June the water was still quite fresh! Still, the sun was shining and we couldn't miss out on the turquoise water. We headed away from the islands, and back towards Cannes to have a look at the Croisette from the sea, it's good to see it from a different perspective!

Swimming in the turquoise waters between the Iles de Lérins

We stopped off at Billionaire's Bay, or translated from French 'Fake Money Bay' at Cap d'Antibes, home to the famous Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc, where many of the big names stayed during the Cannes Film Festival. One of the morning's highlights had to be when we inflated the donut, and all took turns at being towed along behind the boat, at speed; our skipper was definitely trying his hardest to get us in the water! It is obvious why people look for a long list of water toys on their charter, as we had so much fun with just the donut – we can't wait to try and get our hands on a jet ski!
