The Mighty XSR Interceptor – capable of reaching 85 knots!

Continuing along the theme of our previous blog on the stunning 28 Fearless Porsche design boat, the XSR Interceptor takes the concept of a powerboat to the next level. It is the result of over 165,000 hours in research, development and engineering time and is the most advanced craft of its type in the world. With a maximum speed of 85 knots (97mph) and carrying a .50 calibre machine gun hidden under the deck, this boat will be able to overhaul drug smuggling vessels in the Caribbean and pirate ships off the coast of Somalia.

Actor Tom Cruise Joins the Americas Cup Emirates New Zealand Team!

On Thursday 28th July actor Tom Cruise and his son joined the Emirates Team New Zealand that has now won an incredible ninth consecutive race of the Louis Vuitton Cup. After watching this in form team beat rival Luna Rossa Challenge from the team's VIP vessel, both the Hollywood star and his son jumped aboard and joined the 11 man crew in near perfect sailing conditions for an exhilarating demonstration of what these incredible yachts can accomplish.

Tom Cruise said “it was absolutely incredible, we got to work with the crew, it was remarkable actually, we thought we were going to get on and we would go cruising to the slip, and next thing we know I was on this one he was on that one, on the grinder, it was a privilege!”

Both father and son had a competition to see who could get the top speed on a yacht that is capable of speeds of over 44knots (50mph) thanks to their 130-foot (40m) tall wing sails, the equivalent of a 13-story building! Skipper Dean Barker even went as far as to say that “We had a nice reach back under the Bay Bridge, so Tom jumped on the handle bars and did a better job than I did. It was a real boost for the team to have someone like him come along.”

Emirates Team New Zealand also announced recently that they would choose to advance to the Louis Vuitton Cup Final that begins August 17th in order to give them more time to upgrade the yacht having won the round robin of the Louis Vuitton Cup.

Let the Bidding Begin; Luxury Yacht NIRVANA on Sale for $303 million.

Oceanco's longest build in its new series to date, NIRVANA is now on sale. The 290ft mega-yacht that made her début at last year's Monaco Yacht Show as the largest yacht on display is now on sale for €230,000,000. There are only a few yachts that have been priced at more than this stunning yacht, including one made of gold, so that makes NIRVANA one of the most luxurious yachts on the market.

Spread over 6 decks, NIRVANA has 6 cabins to sleep 12 guests. On the main deck you will find the 5 guests cabins and the private owner's deck is accessible by the silver engraved elevator and a reptile house separates the bar and dining area in the salon.

On the main aft deck is the largest pool currently installed on any Oceanco yacht. The oval shaped pool measures 7.5m and has an adjustable depth of up to 1.4m; a variable jet stream means that you can get your exercise and swim laps without moving!
