Charter a Luxury Yacht to Keller Plage, Cap d’Antibes

Some way between Juan-les-Pins and Antibes on the French Riviera is a secluded bay – Cap d’Antibes. In the Cap, Keller Plage is a fantastic restaurant and beach, perfect for lunch on your day charter. We highly recommend the fish at the restaurant, and the Japanese Tuna entrée is absolutely exquisite.

If you’re looking for an alternative to sailing to St Tropez, but are looking for something as relaxing and memorable, why not charter out of Cannes, sail to the Iles des Lerins, where you can anchor in the pearly blue waters for some swimming. After working up an appetite, head to Keller Plage for a sumptuous meal and a relaxing time either on the sandy beaches, or on board your luxury yacht, with a drink in hand.

For your day out, we cannot recommend AQUA BLUE OF IRELAND highly enough. She is a stunning Sunseeker Predator 74, available for charter out of Cannes. She has sunbeds at the front of the yacht to accommodate at least 3 sunbathing, and can accommodate 10 whilst sailing for a day charter. If you’re looking to spend more than a day on board, she has 3 great cabins, which provide space for up to 6 guests. Please see below for a great video of AQUA BLUE OF IRELAND!

Charter a Luxury Yacht to Paloma Beach, St-Jean-Cap-Ferrat

Just east of Nice, the small Paloma Beach is open to everyone; especially if you choose to travel there by yacht! Since 1948, Paloma Beach has shared its stunning views of Beaulieu, Cap d’Ail and the cliffs at Eze with many. Another popular hotspot on the French Riviera, the beach has been visited by the likes of Elton John, Prince Albert of Monaco and Elle Macpherson, which explains why it has become such a stylish stop-off for any jet setter. Paloma Beach is continuously evolving, adapting to suit its clientèle and stay in vogue.

Shaded from the wind, Paloma Beach is a great place to go for lunch during your day charter. You can dine on grilled fish or other local specialities at the beach restaurant, made even better by its picture-perfect location. The water around the beach is also fantastic for water sports, so you can make use of any of the water toys your chosen charter has to offer; even better for working up an appetite before lunch. The beach encourages visitors from the sea; there is a water taxi available if needed, so it is a very welcoming location for anyone who wants to make a stop while cruising the French Riviera.

Open for business from Easter until the end of November, Paloma Beach is a prime location to visit during your summer day charter.

The Latest Water Toy for your Luxury Yacht Charter!

Water toys are an essential part to a Luxury Yacht Charter in the 21st Century. Ranging from tubes to motorised See-Doo’s and Wave Runners, water toys cater for the whole family like never before. One of the latest and most exciting that we have come across so far this year is the ‘Subwing’, which aims to redefine underwater fun by enabling the user to perform a host of thrilling acrobatics, while being in complete control of movement. The Subwing can be towed safely behind a boat up to speeds of 4 knots and is easily dismantled to a compact state, which is perfect for transportation and storage.

You may automatically associate water toys with crewed motor yachts but you must remember that most yachts, including Bareboat Monohulls and Catamarans will have a tender. One of our favourite Luxury Crewed Caribbean yachts is ICARUS, a Jongert 27m monohull, accommodating up to 6 guests in 3 stunning cabins. She has an extensive range of water toys, including water skis, wakeboards and tubes to keep the whole family entertained. She has a dynamic young crew with a can-do attitude, who will attend to your every need to ensure maximum enjoyment on board. She is available for charter from the Caribbean in the Winter and the West Med in Summer.

The America’s Cup 2013

In September 2013, the America’s Cup is returning to America for the first time in 18 years. The America’s Cup, the oldest trophy in international sport, will take place in San Francisco from the 7-21st September 2013. The 34th edition of the AC is hosted in the home town of the defending champions, the Golden Gate Yacht Club, making for an even more exciting race! The AC is returning to America with style; this year includes new boats and new rules (and better media coverage for those who aren’t quite lucky enough to be there for the real thing!).

The AC72 rule for the construction of the catamarans leads to a revolutionary design that can travel at extreme speeds and potential danger, as the new foils can cause the hull to lift out of the water; a risk of capsizing! The new classes of boats will be more powerful and therefore even more demanding to the crews on board. The new AC72s are to be used in both the Louis Vuitton Cup and the America’s Cup; this could mean some very exciting races for anyone who is watching!

The 2013 America’s Cup also prioritises bringing racing to the people. The races are to follow near-shore courses, so those that are watching will be able to get even better views. The television and internet coverage shall also be improved, with new graphics for on board footage and microphones, along with exciting commentary on the coverage. It might be more exciting to watch the races from the comfort of your own home than from the shore!

The Five Competing Teams and Their Clubs:

  • Oracle Racing representing the Golden Gate Yacht Club
  • Artemis Racing representing the Kungliga Svenska Segelsällskapet (Royal Swedish Yacht Club)
  • Emirates Team New Zealand representing the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron
  • Luna Rossa Challenge  representing Circolo Della Vela Sicilia
  • Team Korea representing Sail Korea Yacht Club
