Charter a Luxury Bareboat Catamaran Out Of St Raphael!

St Raphael is in prime position on the French Riviera, where you can sail to St Tropez within an hour, and easily within sailing distance of the glamour of Cannes, and even Monaco. The port is exceptional, with plenty of yachts of all shapes and sizes to see. Along the quay, there are numerous restaurants to visit before and after your charter, and nearby there is a great supermarket for all of your provisioning needs. For more information about a yacht charter on the French Riviera, please see here.

This morning, we visited some of the newest and hottest catamarans for bareboat charters, including the fantastic Lagoon 380 and brand new Lagoon 450! The catamarans shown in the photo above are Lagoon 410 S2 (left) and Lagoon 380 (right). We were extremely impressed with all of the yachts available, especially the Lagoon 400, 380 and 450.

The interior of the Lagoon 450 reminded us of larger luxury yachts, with a Bose sound system, a beautiful flybridge, and an extremely spacious interior. For a list of yachts available in St Raphael, please click here.

Your perfect day trip in the French Riviera – Part 2

Although the word ‘yacht‘ has now come to be synonymous with the beautiful catamarans, sail boats and luxury motor boats we see cruising the French Riviera. Its original name came from the dutch word ‘Jacht‘, meaning hunt and used to define the sleek and fast sailing vessels used by the dutch navy to pursue pirates in the shallow waters of the Low Countries. Later to become used to mean a vessel to transport important people, we’re sure you’ll feel in complete luxury on board FUNTIME – Sunseeker Predator 72 and MY DREAM PRINCESS – Princess 62 which best combine the elements of this ancient heritage.

FUNTIME, the Sunseeker Predator 72 accommodates up to 6 guests in 3 cabins. Her sleek lines and breathtaking top speed convey the indulgent luxury you would expect from a yacht on the French Coast. With a flick of a switch you can also open the hard top transforming the boat and enabling you to truly appreciate the beauty of the French Riviera. There is no better way to explore the coast of France than on one of the many on board toys such as the jet ski!

MY DREAM PRINCESS, the Princess 62 – accommodates up to 8 guests in 4 cabins and provides the perfect setting to entertain and host your guests with three separate setting areas, sunbeds, a barbeque and plenty of toys. Both of these yachts would make any trip along the French Riviera a pleasure and provides guests with the perfect yacht for a day trip.

David Beckham’s Speedboat Fails to Sell at Auction

The Bladerunner RIB 35 used by David Beckham to enter into the London Screen-Shot-2012-12-11-at-10.25.572012 Olympic Games carrying the Torch, has failed to reach its reserve at auction, we can confirm. The vessel was expected to fetch somewhere around £250,000 at auction, something which did not, unfortunately, take place.

The Bladerunner was used by David Beckham, soccer player of LA Galaxy and advocate to London 2012, to carry the torch down the River Thames and under Tower Bridge, on its journey from London City Hall. The RIB was manufactured by Hampshire based Ice Marine.

The bidding of the vessel, for such Olympic paraphernalia, was expected to reach £250,000 (around $400,000) at auction, but that price only managed to reach around £180,000.

Spokesman Julian Roub said, “It was a very busy sale but the item was fairly highly priced and there was insufficient interest on the day.

“It may sell in a post-sale deal.”

If you’re looking to charter something similar, why not go for the fantastic Wally Tender 45, a great motor boat for day charters out of St Tropez and Cogolin. She is sleek and powerful with two 320 CV engines. She charters for between €2,200 and €2,500 per day.
