You can discover all of these islands' secrets while comfortably cruising from one town to the next onboard your luxury crewed catamaran charter. Begin your journey by scuba diving in the world-renowned crystal clear waters of the Garue, the northern pass of the atoll before venturing south to discover Hirifa, Tetemanu, and so much more! Your Fakarava Sailing Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Fakarava
Arrive by plane at Fakarava Airport (FAV) after a one-hour and ten-minute flight northeast from Papeete on the main island of Tahiti. When you arrive, your crew will greet you with a traditional Polynesian garland of Frangipani flowers, before escorting you to the dock where you can board your crewed catamaran and settle in for a week of luxury. Once onboard, enjoy the open deck space and set sail for the Garue the northern pass of the atoll, where you can enjoy world-class snorkeling and scuba diving. After a relaxing first day, enjoy a gourmet dinner prepared precisely to your tastes by your catamaran's experienced chef.

Day 2: Sail to Rotoava to Hirifa
Start your day with a refreshing swim off the back of your catamaran before enjoying a fresh breakfast and setting sail for Hirifa at the southern end of the Atoll (Scuba enthusiasts should consider staying an extra day at the North Pass Garue for more exceptional scuba opportunities). Once your catamaran is underway, enjoy a 4-hour cruise through the lagoon before stopping near Motu Aito and finding a sheltered anchorage. This is the perfect area to break out all the water toys, from sea bobs to kyaks and paddleboards, and explore!
Day 3: Day at Hirifa
Spend the day exploring Hirifa from the stunning main beach to the pink sandbars. This enchanting area is the perfect anchorage for kitesurfing on the consistent trade winds while protected from the swell. There is nowhere else in French Polynesia quite as suited to the sport as Hirifina and there is even a dedicated kite school on the atoll if you want to learn. Your crewed catamaran charter provides the perfect platform for those looking to adventure and those looking to relax and watch from the deck.
Day 4: Sail from Hirifa to Tetamanu
Enjoy a relaxing one-hour sail from Hirifina to the abandoned village of Tetemanu. On your way test out your catamaran's fishing gear and hopefully catch a fresh Mahi-Mahi for dinner. After a day spent relaxing and fishing, lay out on your catamaran's open deck spaces to gaze up at the dazzling stars above you. Centuries ago, Polynesian voyagers used the same constellations to navigate across vast stretches of ocean with astonishing accuracy.

Day 5: Day at Tetemanu
Enjoy breakfast at anchor and a morning swim in the lagoon before heading ashore to explore the motu. Discover the abandoned village or relax on the beach before spending the day exploring the lagoon on water toys, snorkeling in the southern pass, and swimming with (harmless) sharks and stingrays. Snorkeling in the shallows around the pass will reveal an astonishing variety of colorful fish and corals. The crystal clear visibility combined with the rich marine fauna and flora of the reefs here make the Southern Pass one of the world's finest scuba diving locations, and dives can be arranged with local dive shops.

Day 6: Day at Tetemanu
Your second day at the Southern Pass is the perfect opportunity to spend even more time in the water snorkeling or scuba diving. Diving at Tetemanu is truly unbelievable. At times, divers have seen hundreds of grey reef sharks at various depths creating what seems like a wall. The secret of the pass is down at 28m where you will find the aptly named Shark Cave. The cave is accessible during a drift dive that ends at the bar of the overwater restaurant in Tetamanu Village Dive Center where you can sip on a cocktail, review the amazing dive videos you took, and watch the sunset.
Day 7: Sail back to Rotoava
Enjoy an alfresco breakfast before setting sail and voyaging back north to Rotoava for lunch and one last thrilling afternoon. After your catamaran anchors, venture ashore and rent e-bikes to explore or venture out to the pass through the coconut groves. While in Rotoava, you can venture out to the windward side of the island and watch the waves break on the reefs. You can also visit the Polynesian Catholic Church or explore the souvenir and pearl shops where you can find iconic keepsakes from the islands. At the end of the day, visit Havaiki Restaurant and Bar for cocktails and dinner in an idyllic setting where no shoes are required on the sandy floor.

Departure: Fly out
Enjoy one final breakfast onboard before you head ashore and transfer to the airstrip for your flight back to Papeete. As you depart, your crew will present you with a traditional Polynesian farewell, a necklace made from small seashells that each represent the memories you and your family made while on charter, signifying that one day you are destined to return to the Tuamotus one day.
