This barboat itinerary is for those wanting to see the best of Croatia through several of its most celebrated islands. It involves more sailing than the standard route as it begins in Split and sails all the way to Dubrovnik. Croatia Bareboat Sailing Itinerary Map - Split to Dubrovnik
Day 1: Split/Trogir
Embark the yacht in Split or the neighboring town of Trogir (depending on what marina you embark from - they're both very close to the Split Airport) and spend the night in the marina getting used to your yacht. Split Airport is a multinational destination easily reachable from all major European airports. Split is an ancient Venetian town, where you will find the Dodecanese palace, quaint restaurants, and underground markets. There is a strong Italian influence here, as seen in the quirky shops and restaurants you can try out on the first night of your charter if you don't wish to cook onboard!

Day 2: Split/Trogir to Hvar
Set sail at 9 am to profit from Croatia's bluest waters on your sail to the exciting and historic island of Hvar. This is a 3-hour sail so allow plenty of time to get into the port of Hvar as often the spaces in the marinas are filled (although there are plenty of quiet anchorages nearby). Famous for its lavender fields, home to some of the best bars in Europe to catch the sunset, and the place to be for the late night clubbing scene, Hvar has a little something for everyone! If you do have to moor in a cove outside of Hvar, do not worry as there are many Uber boats and taxis so you can head into Hvar town whenever you wish. If you don't like the throbbing sound of the clubs, be sure to anchor nearby Hvar our of earshot.
Day 3: Hvar to Vis
Set sail for two hours this morning to visit the remote island of Vis. Despite its Mediterranean beauty, olive groves and vines, ancient ruins, and secluded beaches, Vis still has very few tourists! The town of Vis is on the southern slopes of Gradina Hill, Situated in the quiet bay of Luka. Sample local wines such as Vugava and Plavaca from local Croatian grapes and soak up the scenery in this Dalmatian paradise.
Day 4: Vis to Lastovo
Take a slightly longer sail today, over to the Luka Veliji Lago today in Lastovo. Having only recently been opened to foreign yachts, the island of Lastovo remains peaceful and unspoiled. The island is renowned for its stunning 15th and 16th-century architecture such as the Renaissance church built in the Roman Catholic tradition.
There are several secluded anchorages where quiet shelter can be found for the night.
Day 5: Lastovo to Korcula
Korcula has been nicknamed ‘little Dubrovnik’, which has caught on due to the abundant historical monuments and cultural atmosphere. This town boasts strong traditions such as religious ceremonies, folk dances and the finest Croatian wines produced from posip grapes. Wander through the musky olive groves, bustling villages and lush vineyards to really experience the true town. World class mountain biking can be found here as well as hiking trails if you’re more comfortable on foot! Dine at the elegant Lesic Dimitri Palace restaurant where you can taste rare culinary delicacies; the menu celebrates local and seasonal ingredients and wash it own with award-winning wine.
Day 6: Lastovo to Mljet
Miljet is one of Croatia's best-kept secrets. Most of the island is a forest with a few traditional villages springing up. Sailing about three hours to the north-western half of the island you can moor in Pomena or Polace. Rent e-bikes for a short ride to two remarkably scenic lakes, the Veliko Jezero and the Malo Jezero in Pomona. A Benedictine monastery that offers a pleasant restaurant stands in the middle of the Veliko Jezero and is worth the electric ferry ride (or swim if you like!).

Day 7: Mljet to Dubrovnik
Disembark your yacht and spend time in the timeless city of Dubrovnik on the last day of your charter. Get lost in the Game of Thrones scenery and absorb the country's colourful history from within its ancient walls. Dubrovnik has largely been repaired and reconstructed following the devastation it sustained from the war in 1991 and 1992, when over 68% of its buildings suffered from heavy damage. Today, she retains all of her original charms which can be enjoyed both from a yacht and on land.
