Southern Wind celebrated its 25 Year Anniversary in 2016, and looking back to their debut into the yachting industry, it is clear that Southern Wind has demonstrated some artistic and innovative progression.
Willy Persico was the man who set the winds in motion, collaborating with interior designer Antonio Minniti in 1990 to start work on his own yacht, AGA JARI. Willy purchased the Southern Winds Shipyard in 1991, and began the trail of innovation by bringing in new materials and techniques as the years progressed.
One of the Southern Wind characteristics is the fact that they stay true to the inherent designs of their sailing yachts; each new build is an evolution from the last, with an obvious progression in each one that can be seen throughout the decades.
Southern Wind has made a true name for itself in the Saling Yacht world, with its 102ft FARFALLA holding the title of Winner of the 2015 World Superyacht Awards for her quality and value.
